Hans Hedemann

Hans Hedemann was born and raised in the Hawaiian Islands.  A Local boy, Hedemann, had a natural talent for surfing, and was born a waterman.  Hans joined the ASP World tours (Association for Surfing Professionals) and was a Hawaii representative for the World Tour.  He had visited 30 schools a year to promote ocean safety and preservation.

As a professional surfer, he has won many distinguished competitions.  Hedemann has placed first in: Billabong Pro (Australia), Gunston 500 (South Africa), and was the first to win back-to-back ASP World Events.

In 1997, the Hans Hedemann Surf School launched.  It is now the premiere surfing school in Hawaii.  A team of Lifeguard and CPR Trained instructors and safety guides dedicate to an enriched Hawaiian Surfing experience to provide a great adventure for the beginner, intermediate, and advanced surfer.

Hans Hedemann Surf School opened its shop at Waikiki Park Shore Hotel in 2004 to service all Waikiki Hotels.  From there we offer surf and stand up paddle lesson and rentals conveniently across the street from the Honolulu Zoo and the Waikiki Beach.  In 2007, we also opened another surf shop in the home of professional surfing competitions like the Triple Crown, Pipeline Pro and the Eddie on the North Shore of Oahu, at the Turtle Bay Resort.  There we have access to the best surf breaks specials bays and coves at the Resort creating the best environment for beginners and advanced surfing.
